In the never-ending quest to attract a younger crowd to casinos, MGM Resorts has announced that a nightclub that is former the Luxor in vegas will reopen as an esports arena.
The Luxor is remodeling its now-defunct nightclub LAX into an esports arena. The target is to pull in a younger demographic, not as enchanted by traditional slots as their parents.
The organization has entered into a deal with Allied Esports and Esports Arena to build a dedicated venue for gamers at the now closed LAX nightclub. The 30,000-square-foot space will have a multi-level arena complete with competition phase, LED movie wall, telescopic seating, daily gaming channels, a customized food and beverage providing, and a state-of-the-art streaming and television-quality manufacturing studio.
Niklas Rytterstrom, general manager of Luxor, believes that esports could be the future and will become among the more popular features at the Strip resort, once it is completed in June 2018.
